How to find the Colour Tone to a Lab-, RGB- or CMYK-colour value

Select the tab “find colour tone”.
Enter the desired colour values.
Select the target colour system (e.g. RAL CLASSIC, Schmincke).

After a short calculation the result will be indicated. It contains the colour name, Delta E, the quality of the match and a RGB display of the two closest comparison colours.

Compare Details

A separate window is opened with the button „Compare Details“, in that window the colour comparison is consolidated in detail. As well as the above mentioned data, an assessment will be conducted for the correlation in colour tone, brightness and saturation for the closest three colours

Pipette

The colour pipette can take the RGB colour values from the monitor.

This is very practical for our colour comparison: the comparison colours for any given files can be acquired (drawings, picture, photographs, …), and the following question, as an example, can be answered:

Example: Which RAL colour does the White House have?

This question is answered after a few simple clicks of the mouse:

We search for a fitting picture on the internet.
Next to the browser we open the slider „find colour tone“ in the DIGITAL COLOUR ATLAS and click on the button „pipette“.
We pull the mouse pointer over a suitable section of the facade on which the colour appears as realistically as possible.
With ENTER the pipette colour is transferred to the main window.
On the right side of the main window the desired colour system can now be selected.
The two closest neighbouring colours of the colour system appear.
With the button "Detail comparison" you receive exact information about the colour comparison.
